Presidents Report
In 2026 UGFOA celebrates 50 years of training, supporting, and connecting its members. Join us as we honor our past and forge our future. Registration is now open!
The 2026 Spring Conference will offer the updates and best practices you have come to expect, plus an expanded selection of member-led breakout sessions to help you tailor your experience. We’re also excited to launch a new tradition by recognizing one of our members as the UGFOA Finance Officer of the Year. Submit your nomination here.
We’ve refreshed our Day 1 afternoon activities with more ways to enjoy St George in the Spring, including a pickleball tournament, an fun-for-every-level golf event at Crush Golf and Grill, plus our ever-popular group hike. See more details in news and updates below.
You have given us ideas on how to make our conference better and we are acting on that feedback. We’re moving sponsor booths to the glass-walled garden room for a larger exhibitor space that will allow uninterrupted discussion to occur without disturbing training sessions, and we’ve streamlined sponsor spotlights: only our three Gold Sponsors will be highlighted, and only at the start of each day. You’ll also be able to choose from three delegate gifts—or opt out altogether if you prefer to reduce waste.
We have been able to make these exciting changes and still maintain the same cost to you even amid significant facility and food cost inflation. For this we owe gratitude to our amazing sponsors. They have stepped up and we owe them our thanks and attention. Please give them a little of your time by stopping at their booths and visiting with them during breaks, meals, and social events. For those who don't have enough budget to attend, consider applying for our Spring Conference Scholarship here.
Finally, help me show the newer member how things used to be. Please send us ([email protected]) any conference photos from before 2020 or snap a picture of any of the bags or other UGFOA branded swag you still have.
Spring will be here before we know it, but for now, my fingers are crossed for a wet winter, a budget surplus, a clean audit, and sunshine on March 31st in St George. See you then.

Annual Spring Conference Day-1 Afternoon Activity Details
Crush Golf - Crush Golf is a high tech driving range with a variety game options similar to Top-Golf. Choose between playing a competitive 18 holes virtually on a world famous golf course or keep it casual by playing one of Crush Golf's interactive games.
Those choosing the competitive route, will use the tech-driven virtual system lets you experience the same fairways the pros do – without the airfare. There will be prizes for the closest to the pin and longest drive.
The casual route will include interactive games that are for Everyone! Games include, Closest to the Pin, Bullseye, Hit it! and Capture the Flag that are fun, interactive and a great way of improving your game. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner. These are games for everyone.
All participants will enjoy lunch and access to all the other amenities at Crush Golf and Grill. To allow our sponsors and other delegates to effectively network, we are limiting guests to one-per-delegate. We will be pairing delegates and their guests with sponsors into groups of 4-6 people for this purpose. There is a $20 fee for members and $25 fee for guests.
Hike - Enjoy a guided group hike led my one of our own. The hike will be a moderately challenging 3-5 mile or about 2 hours long. We expect it to be appropriate for reasonably heathy and active school-aged children and adults. There is no fee for members or guests to participate.
Pickle Ball - Join us for a UGFOA first. Morton Associates is organizing a pickleball tournament for players of all skill levels. We will match up teams based upon skill level and take care of all the details. There is no fee for members or guests to participate.
